On monday we headed into DC and met up with our friend Kristi and her kids. We took Kathy's son Zach with us. We took a stroll around the national mall. We started at the Lincoln Memorial.
We then headed into the mall to the rest of the memorials.
The Washington Memorial is such an impressive monument. The reflecting pool was very impressive as well.
THe Vietnam memorial wall was especially impressive. Kristi shared with us the stories of a few of her fathers friends who he served with that perished in the war and are memorialized in the stone wall.
It was great to have our kids get reacquainted. Kristy and Jade .
We stopped to get a snack

Easter in Arlington
We spent Easter Sunday seeing the Arlington area. Our good friend Josh took us around and gave a great tour of the area. It was a day full of recognizing the service of so many who have sacrificed all they could to ensure our freedom.

Easter eggs
Being that we were traveling we didnt have a whole lot planned for easter. We ended up coloring some eggs and the easter bunny delivered an activity book for Katy and a journal for Kristy and a little bit of candy.

Maryland
We flew into Dover Deleware and rented a car, then drove to Maryland.
We had arranged to stay with some friends Kathy and Jerry. The weather was beautiful when we got to their house so we took advantage and took a stroll around their neighborhood. They are in a small community that is right on the bay. Took the opportunity to get some pics. Of course!

Spring Break Adventure
We decided to take a vacation for Kristys Spring break. We took a military hop to the east coast to visit friends and experience the area as a family. It was Katys first time flying and Kristys first time that she remembers. It was a lot different then commercial flying as once we reached cruising altitude we were able to get up and move freely and the kids were able to sprawl out and play. It was a little louder than most commercial flights so headphones or ear plugs were used throughout the flights. Kristy had a friend on the flight out. They played and had a great time.
