We went to see the recycled Noahsark exhibit at the skirball museum with the girl scouts. They had all kinds of interactive activities and they were all made of materials that had been thrown out. One of the rooms allowed the kids to build there own pieces with tubing... kristy and a few other girls came up with this large idea that had a few issues, balance being one of them...lol

300 Bling

Brian bowled his 300 game in October. Tonight they got his ring and presented it to him before league started. As I am sure he will get more, he will not get the first one again so here it is. We are all so proud of him and look forward to witnessing his future successes.

Open House
On the 27th we had Kristys first open house. She got to show us how they do bean math. This is her being the teacher.
Here is the math chart. Everyday they have a math question and she is in second place, she missed one because she forgot to put her name on the paper. Oops. I don't know where she gets it from but she is a bit of a perfectionist. So she is happy about it but a little disappointed in herself.
The teachers did sillouttes of the kids and posted them for us to find our children. Can you find Kristy.
They have learning books where a page in the book is illistrated and written by each child with info about the subject on the cover. Here are a few of Kristys pieces.
Finally Kristy with her teacher.
Check out how much she has grown since the beginning of the year!

Disney on Ice
Same weekend of Dads birhtday the Girl Scouts had a field trip (Kristy's troop anyway) to see Disney on ice. They sold so many cookies they had extra money and this was the chosen way to use it. Here is her troop in front of the center in Ontario that the show was at.
A few shots of the show

And of course Kristy. It was a very long day but a good show.

Three weeks ago we had the last of birhtdays to celebrate until late summer.
My Dad had another birthday. In attempt to pretend it wasn't happening we went to dinner at Tokyo Steakhouse.
Kristy loved it especially the fruit dessert with the little umbrella. The food was amazing and the girls both ate a little of everything!
Katy wasn't quite sure about the appropriate use of chop sticks. Love it!
Keep checking back, I am going to try to catch up on all that we did during the weeks of my yearbook distraction.

Lesson Learned

I just finished a few very long weeks. I am done with the yearbook for the elementary school and could not be happier. I learned a very valuable lesson, Super Mom is a name to be had not by the mom who does it all but the mom who knows when to say no. I volunteered my "skills" on the condition of assistance throughout the year and ended up with very minimal assistance and tons to do in a little amount of time. After doing the daily minimum requirements, I worked non stop on the yearbook and even roped a few people in to doing the repetitive work that I didn't have time for. Huge props to my Dad, friend Jill and volunteer Kellie. I love how kids (Kristy) has a way of making me see the wrong of my ways. She asked me are you done with the yearbook? I said yes. She said, "Yeah, now we can have fun again!"...... Where were my priorities? Well I had obligated myself but am now determined to be very selective about what "jobs" I will take on. She also told me one day, "You know _________'s mom stays home all day long!" "Yes, some mommies do that they stay home and take care of their kids and work at the house. There are days I wish I stayed at home." "Oh, well if that was me I would be out looking for a job!" She will absolutely with out a doubt be a go getter. I just hope that she is not so much like me that she takes on more than she needs to. Finding balance and setting priorities is my new goal so that I can teach my girls by example....

Faith/Belief
Tonight at dinner Kristy asked,
"Mom did you know that Cinderella is not real?"
"Who told you that?"
"This girl at school. She saw a lady at disneyland who was just in a costume. So Cinderella is not real!"
"How do you know? People dress up like Hannah Montana, does that mean she isn't real?"
"No she is real. A girl at school saw her at a concert"
"How do you know that it was her?"
"Because a lot of people saw her."
"Not everyone believes in the same things, there are people who don't believe in Santa, or the tooth fairy. Does that mean you can't believe in them?"
"Ok she is real."
Brian pitched in "Kristy who gave you permission to grow up so fast?"
"Jesus!"
".............."
LOL!

Brief
Brian just finished a Mustache March for work. It was a morale challenge. All males were challenged to grow 'staches. They took pictures the first week of March and on the 31st and are deliberating on winners. Here is the March 31st view of Brian and I. I am so grateful for him. It's not the greatest picture, it is a little distorted being we only had a short arms length between us and the lens but it works.
I am crazy right now with the deadline for the yearbook on monday the 6th, and very little help to get it done I have put myself in quit a place. I have a busy weekend coming up of getting this thing to the publishers. Last week myself and the gals at work (Sandy and Tina) started a biggest loser competition. Sandys husband James is also participating. We are weighing every wednesday before lunch. Whoever loses the most wight is off the hook for the week. Everyone else has to put a dollar for every pound in a pot that at the end of the 3 months will be given to the overall biggest loser. We had a 5th late addition that weighed this last wednesday. In the first week I lost 7 lbs. The pot now has $21 in it! Yeah! Of course now they know how serious I am so they will likely step it up. Though the money is not really the point of it, winning is and I am a little bit competitive. Haha... I will continue to do updates through out. Its amazing how simply cutting portions and choosing salad instead of fries and chicken sandwiches instead of burgers helps. I have also been pushing to drink half my weight in oz. of water a day. After that I will allow myself a little soda but by that time I really am not up for much soda. Brian has been encouraging and making me work out and pushing me to work harder than I would push myself.
Some of you may have heard about the F-22 that went down last week. At work I do a lot of work with the organization that works on the 22's. Brian and I had the honor of attending the memorial held for him here yesterday. One of the biggest things that was spoken of was the uncontrollable. How none of us know when our time is up and that living to the fullest is key so that there will not be regrets. All things combined I am at the point where I am done (almost- yearbook is almost done too) with living to get through the day and the week. I am ready to truly enjoy and stop putting off the things that I want for myself and my family. So that is the brief on me...
Katy has this attachment to her "babies". SHe won't get up without them and wont go to bed without them. Half the time she wants to take them with her when we leave the house also. I took advantage and snapped this shot of her. She is in a toddler bed and feels it a requirement to wake before Kristy and go to bed after. Just Katy. LOL. Enjoy.
