last few weeks

The weekend of the 16th we went to Stockton for the state bowling tournament. Brian was the only one from our family that bowled but we all had an enjoyable time. The girls got to swim at the hotel and loved every hour in the pool. Brian did okay. He likely didn't win anything in the overall tourney but he did win in some of his brackets. Katy is doing well, she is now saying a few words together, like "Daddy Bowl", Kisty chool". She is continuing to grow her attitude which we are constantly trying to tame and control. We will be successful at least to a degree.
Kristy is in the last two weeks of school. She has grown up so much in the last year. She reads to us at bedtime and is a great example for Katy. It is great watching them together, Kristy will do something and Katy will copy her and follow her lead. We hosted a get together for memorial day weekend and had some friends over. Kristy and her friend Laura played dress up and all the kids enjoyed the backyard in beautiful weather.
All the way back, Mothers Day was nice, Brian and my Dad took the girls and let me have an afternoon to do what I wanted. When they got home we had a nice bbq'd dinner and they had gotten me flowers that Kristy personally picked out. They were very beautiful.
And finally we completed our winter league tonight. I got a new ball when we were in Stockton and it has been a very good fit. I bowled a 225 scratch game tonight which places me in the top ranks for the women in the league. Yeah!

business

I had a shoot to do at home and so I took advantage and used my models to adjust settings. Here are my favs from the few they let me take.
Being it was bed time for the girls they are in pj's. Katy while I was setting up got up to the counter and grabbed a banana and squished i until it broke open. She doesn't take no easily and if she wants something she will go when attention is not on her and get it despite the answer she had gotten previously. It's gonna make it interesting to keep her from doing things she shouldn't in her teens...

Bowling party

Katy telling me to "ot" (stop_ and "Go". She was done having her picture taken. It was glow bowling to keep everyone busy while giving out awards. Kristy bowled 3 games.
Katy enjoyed playing with the other little ones and hanging out.
Kristy was recognized for the step ladder award, games with total pinfall being consecutive numbers.

Kristy and her trophy and gifts.

Girl Scout Camp

Kristy had her first camping trip. We went up to the Tehachapi mountains. It was a bit cold but everyone had a really good time. The girls hanging in their tent. A quick shot of Kristy and I, before I realized how old I am and how I can't keep up like I used to. hmmhmmha
Campfire had great songs, smores and even a skit. This is "doin' the John Travolta" dance. Kristy even got up and led a repeat song that she made up herself. It was something like
"We are girl scouts... we like to sing... the campfire is fun... we make smores... we eat them up... then we go to bed..." The leader of the oldest girls was impressed by her courage of getting up in front of everyone.
With three layers of clothes and her sleeping bag Kristy was very comfy sleeping. I understand why parents always seemed to go crazy at camp, parents can't sleep while camping with kids spread around the site....
In the morning it was quite cold and Kristy was very ready to head home. There isn't a picture of her without a grimace from the cold. At least we weren't there the night before when it rained on everyone.

Kristy said her favorite part was the hike where they learned to use a compass (kind of) and followed coordinates to find treasures (flash light, dog tag, and whistle). I enjoyed sitting at the fire waiting for it to die out and hearing the hum of chatter from all the tents.
