River Run

So this last weekend was the Laughlin River Run for Bikers... No, we are not Bikers but we were invited and figured it would be something interesting to experience and so we went. We got to know a few people that we otherwise wouldn't have and have a new understanding of the biking community. We "camped". (We didn't do much but set-up, try to sleep and clean up at the campsite, but it was still kinda camping) The wind was blowing gust up to 30 mph... so nobody slept too well. It was fun and I got lots of good pictures so here are a few.

Chaos

What a week. The girls are doing well, maybe feeling a little shorted with time with Mom but they are good. The Photography has picked up. I've had 5 sessions this week/weekend. It likely won't keep up but it may, and wow, I haven't been so tired in a while. Friday I got recognized for great customer service. I was given a few little things to say thanks, a "bendable, dependable anti-deppresant" toy and a silver "caught at my best" pin! As I was preparing to leave my boss was whispering with another lady who was claiming that I am not allowed to be employed by the government and hold a contract.... so after a few minutes of nervousness of having to cancel 3 sessions, we were cleared to keep it valid until next week when we get answers from headquarters. It's been a crazy week and we have been enjoying a relaxing day together. Will update as soon as I know anything. Hope every one is doing well.

Orme Family

I had the pleasure of doing pictures for a family today. They are friends who have helped me out with the girls in a few last minute hard spots. I am trying to submit an image to a contest and thought who better to ask for opinions than those of you who keep up with us. It is a baby and child photography contest so the choice is between the images of Morgan. We are old!

Tonight, as many people did, we watched the "Idol Gives Back Show". Kristy was back and forth playing and watching. We were enjoying the comedy of Billy Crystal when Kristy said "Is that Miley Cyrus?"
Brian and I just exchanged a glance as Billy Crystal said "Meliy Cirrus".
We asked Kristy, Who is Miley Cirus?
Her response, "Oh, she's the one that's with Hannah Hotana (Montana), they have different hair and clothes but the same skin." We were impressed! Then we started to listen to her performance. We found ourselves fighting the urge to change the channel or mute the TV during her performance. It's not that she is not talented, but we can't connect with her music. Somethings help you realize why you have a PVR... FFWD.............
As the song continued we just kept looking at each other and finally Brian said, "I know I am old because I don't get her music."
Kristy then informed him,
"Yeah Daddy you are old because if you were 10 you would get it! Even if you were nine you would get it."
Of course our little 5 going on 25 year old has a lot that she doesn't quite get either. She has got a few jokes down now, thank you Nana for your help with that. She can successfully tell the "BooHoo" Knock knock joke and has pretty much got the "orange you glad" joke too. I guess at the end of the night I can feel good knowing Hannah can't be as bad as Barney, right?

I couldn't get a great photo of her doing this, but this one shows it decently. Her favorite toys since Easter are the plastic eggs.An angel of some or many sorts if you will.

Tomorrow Kristy has a dentist appt. So she and I will go to her appt and then have a few hours of Kristy and Mom time. Should be a lot of fun! I think we will grab some lunch and walk around the Valencia Mall. (maybe even visit the Disney store :-)
