80's night w/ Girl Scouts

They had a Lock-In for the girl scouts with an 80's theme. I only remembered the theme an hour before so we threw together the outfit and the hair only took about 10 minutes. No wonder we were all about it back then. They had skating, Kristy did pretty good but said that her bum is still sore from all the falling...lol.

Katys Birhtday

We were so back and forth on her party. On thursday she woke not feeling well and luckily by friday morning was good to go. On friday the weather decided to give us a scare and it snowed, again. Only for about an hour and no sticking but it was still not good party weather. The weather turned out to be a pleasant 50 something degrees and was even nice enough for the kids to play outside for a bit.I had her cake made, as i was not going to have time to make it myself. It turned out really nice. She got a couple taste before I really got a pic of it. lol.She wasn't really into opening gifts or blowing out the candles. Brian ended up blowing out the candles for her. We cut the cake and served the ice cream and Katy decided after a bite of each that she wanted to just have m&m's instead. She only somewhat opened the gifts and required a lot of help. She got a Baby alive, a couple really cute dresses, a dora bag with phone and stickers, a lady bug jacket and blanket and baby and some color wonder sets as well as a couple of books.
She had a good turn out. This is her and Autumn.
She had such a good time and it really wasn't as bad as we had anticipated combining the holiday and birthday. There were more people than we realized who were open to a birthday over the valentines celebration. A very fun day!

Downtown D

I have no idea, but I LOVE IT!We visited Downtown Disney to spend a little more time enjoying the OC before heading home. We wanted to go to lunch/dinner at Goofys Kitchen or another restuarant we haven't been to before, but hours are somewhat limited, not to say they would have even had tables available. Anyway, we had a great time wandering around and I got some really cute pics. The girls were posing under the star for me. Katy wasn't too comfy, she wanted to be just like Kristy but didn't like the cold/wet of the ground on her knee. Very particular child.

Katy was hesitantly happy to repeat and do the same that Kristy had done.
It was so much fun, we really were able to just enjoy being together in a fun atmosphere.

Weber finals

Kristy enjoys bowling and is learning about it more each week. After the finals she had the opportunity to meet and get a picture with Carmen Salvino, one of the best bowlers ever and a founder of the PBA! Very nice man. After the picture he took an extra minute to talk Katy and the rest of us as well. Slightly more exciting, to her, was the opportunity to meet and get the autograph of the winner of the tourney, Norm Duke. She had just seen him on tv and then got to meet him. She even told him that she liked him better than the guy (Pete Weber) who "is horrible at strikes but really good at spares today". Fortunately he didn't really follow her and understand what she was saying. Again a very nice person.

Well into February

We had the first week of February fly by. We are now a week away from Katy's 2nd birthday and are just living it up. We went to the OC for the weekend. The PBA was there all week for the Dick Weber tournament (we went for Brians birthday last year) and decided to go again this year. I bowled in the Pro-Am (a day long tourney with 3 sessions to maximize participation). So I bowled, nine pin no tap, 3 games with pros rotating through every 5 frames. My first game I had all marks (mostly no tap ~meaning 9 pins went down on the first ball, and it was given as a strike) for a game of 244 + 81= 325. My second game was a little less with total pin fall of 230. At the end of the second game our score boy was kind enough to inform me all I had to do was keep the pace and I could be in first place in the tourney ($1000 payout). I got a little nervous and landed at best estimation about 3rd place after my 166 in the last game. We won't know anything for at least a week but it is expected that I won at least something for my stellar no-tap skills (or my advantage of a huge handicap...lol)

WE stayed at the Winston West Coast Plaza and went to the South Coast Plaza to waste some time before bed. The girls got to ride the carousel. Katy wasn't a fan, she wasn't very comfortable on the horse. We got up and after taking Brian and Grandpa over to see the televised finals we went back to the room to watch where the girls could make as much noise as desired with out affecting the show. The girls had a lot of fun playing around the room. A few pics because they were just too funny.

Katy learned to make silly faces... she will put her fingers in her cheeks and pull them out so you can see her entire jaw. Pretty funny. THis isn't it but was still cute.
