Kristy's Day

Kristy had a great day. She was not only on TV buut she was in the base paper. On wednesday the reporter came out and did an interview and said that it would be a quick short story that should make it into this weeks paper. On my way to work out I took alook at the paper and it had made it in but to my surprise it was a full page! We watched the 5 minutes of fame as a family and found it a very fitting story to Kristys personality. I will be getting a hard copy of it from PBS and will load it to be viewable for anyone who missed it. She had invited some friends of ours to come over after work to have dinner and watch her show so we enjoyed some good food and friends company friday night. She even got asked for an autograph! She signed like a pro "Love Kristy"

Another tooth down...

and she took it out all by herself this time. For about two weeks she has been trying to get us to pull it and we keep putting it off. These teeth are getting expensive! So as patient as she could be she had enough and got it out by herself.Katy thankfully wasn't watching and didn't start asking for her teeth to come out.

Fathers Day

For fathers day we loaded up Saturday night and headed down to San Diego. W stayed the night just up the street from the SD temple... I had forgotten how majestic it is at night. Such a beautiful building. One of the highlights of the trip was when we were in the elevator and Katy was carrying the blankets holding her "babies". A mom and her teenage daughters boarded the elevator and the mom commented to her daughters, "what a good idea, the blankets are a carrier. I should have thought of that when you were little, no your dad is an engineer, why didn't he think of it?... It is always entertaining to hear peoples thoughts voiced knowing that others are listening. We went to Sea World and took advantage of the Salute our Heroes program. Having been there a few times before it was nice and relaxing. At the Shamu show Kristy insisted on sitting in the soak zone, so us girls sat down there and the guys sat up in the safety of the higher seats. Brian took a bunch of good shots of the show.
We also saw the Cirque de la Mer which was really cool. Kristy posed with some of the creatures from the show.
We spent most of the day wet trying to dry out. Kristy waited in the soak zone at the Atlantis and got appropriately wet.
Of course we took some time to admire the different marine life throughout the park. Katy wasn't ready to touch anything though.

Kristy went on a ride all by herself, (none of us adults felt like spinning in circles). She was so excited and had a great time.
The girls got to meet Cookie monster. Katy wasn't to comfortable with it. She slowed as Kristy approached and the attendant tryed to make her more comfortable but she wasn't having it.
We got the great family pic with the terrified child as a result...lol.Kristy went on Atlantis with Brian. As soon as the ride started she was crying to be let off. It was a little too late. She dug some pretty good nail marks into Brians arm. As you can barely see her in this pic she was pretty scared. By the time they showed up at the exit she was laughing and having a good time but opted not to go again.
It was a great day!

This is the still of Kristy's PICME show. Pretty fun. Turns out the local paper is going to do a small article about her role as well.

TV star

Kristy will be on tv... on friday I got this email.

Hello Myrna:

My name is Cathleen Kiernan and I am one of the PR Agency representatives from Fish With Feet, LLC for PBS KIDS Sprout. Your child Kristy has been chosen to appear in Sprout’s PICME episode called Planting Seeds on June 26, 2009. The PICME episode starring Kristy is scheduled to air during The Sunny Side Up Show between 11:30am and Noon EDT.

Once we verified everything and gave permission we got info that they are in contact with the local paper to get a little mention there also. She is thrilled. We are pretty excited for her also. Tune in if you can.

Arizona winners

Here are my favorites of the natural beauty in Arizona. Let me know what you think. I am working on how I am going to go about selling prints like these.

Nana

We spent friday the 12th celebrating and saying goodbye to Nana Chapman. It was a day filled with seeing family that we haven't visited with in too long, as well as mourning the loss of Nana. Heres a few pics of the girls with her in March 2008.

Here are some pics from the day of the service. It was really so great to see everyone, if only it had been different circumstances. We are making it a point to not take for granted the time we have.

Arizona

I don't know what it is about where we were but I had this inspiration to get ghostly images... It was a very beautiful resort we stayed at. I took advantage and took pictures at night. This was a little patio in the middle of gardens. A quiet place.
A little drama from us both.
This is what I called the secret garden. It is a little enclosed garden that undoubtedly is meant for wedding ceremonies or something like that. I just loved the way it was so green and the door just made you have to approach to look beyond.
We had dinner at their 4 star restaurant and found ourselves very unimpressed. Service was great and the ambiance was spot on (except the view of the giant rat wandering the perimeter of the restaurant). The food was pretty good, just way to dressed up for us. I figured out that people with too much money are typically skinny cause when you pay way too much for food they give you tiny portions. Thanks to Ratatouille we didn't have to pay much for our dining experience. We weren't even that bothered by it, but they insisted that as a reward or thanks for the warning it was necessary. We aren't going to argue! This shot was just around the corner from the restaurant.
One of the hallways.
Another path, this one heads to the garden area.
The hall near our room. The resort was covered with nooks staged with unique things.
The view from the back door of our room. Very pleasant and relaxing.
We took a day and traveled north. We ended up in Sedona. We took a Pink Jeep Tour of the mountains. You should all be proud of me, it was of roading and I stayed comfortable in the jeep the full ride.
We got to stop and walk around a few times and of course I took pictures. Here we are at one of the stops.
And finally one shot of the red rocks. It is a truly beautiful area. I have some better shots but am not ready to put them out yet. I will likely put them on my website as I feel they are worthy of selling.... we'll see.

May 27th

The day before we took off for our anniversary Kristy lost her 5th tooth. She did most of the work on this one. We tease her that the 7-10 split we leave at bowling is like her smile, until her teeth come back. She has 2 more that are loose and she keeps telling us that she knows one is going to come out VERY soon. Katy thinks she needs to lose her teeth also. We keep telling her she has a few years before that will happen but she wants to be so much like Kristy. She gets a tissue to try to get a grip on her teeth....

I can't stop them from growing up but I am sure well going to enjoy and document everything I can to be sure the memories don't fade completely.
