Our American Soldier

We have recently found out that Brian will be deploying in the spring. Details can not be published online but he is going back to the deserts. It is going to be a 6 month tour with 2 months of training prior to his tour. We are not looking forward to the separation but are glad to have time to adjust and prepare for the separation. We are honored to be where we are, for Brian and his dedication to his work. This is a song that very much expresses how we feel. There are some in the armed forces who dont like this song and dont feel this way but we do. It is especially close to our hearts because it was filmed and released during one of Brians first few deployments which was filmed in part here at Edwards.
We as a family are never happy about being separated but we accept it as part of the life we signed for and will get through it day by day and make sure to live each day to the fullest to ensure time is not taken for granted. We have told Kristy that Brian will be going and thankfully we are in a community where it is a bit more common for a parent to go away for "work" for an extended amount of time. We currently have our neighbor (Hunter's daddy) who is in the homestretch of his deployment and prior to that Nicole and Kaitlyns dad, Jay, had gone for a similar deployment and it has allowed Kristy to understand that it is how it goes around here.
