Pics are all mixed up but I guess that happens with a long day of fun to report on. This was the last event of the day (aside from the drive home). The girls (all 18 of our Edwards girls) got on the jump castle and almost made it out unscathed. Kristy had a collision with one of the girls and they exchanged goose eggs.
Kristy posing I think it was to show off her crown cheek but the sun was so hot that I did't catch it. Kinda a cute attempt at a pose though.
The day wasn't as much about the cookies as we thought it was more about all the things girls scouts do. This was set up by a troop who have gymnist. Each of the girls got a turn to get up on the horse and strike a pose.
There was make-up vendors who set up to put shadow or lipstick on the girls. I think they ran out early on (most of the girls didn't have anything on or it was so sheer that it didn't show up.... either way the girls thought they got makeup so its all good.
Kristys daisy troop and a couple moms/leaders in the back. The meeting before the get together they tye dyed shirts so they all matched. It was nice to be able to better keep an eye on the girls in all the chaos.
They had a booth from one of the local lakes... couldn't tell you shich, they host camping for scouts. They had a tub full of some sort of microscopic creatures. They were swimming about and the girls thought it was really cool to see how big they looked through the magnifying glass.
They o course had face painting. Kristy opted for a crown. It didn't last long because they used the halloween type costume makeup instead of paint. Kristy only took about 2 minutes to smear it off because it itched. It looked cute while it lasted...lol.
One of the troops set up a booth to make swaps. Swaps are pins made with the troop number on them that the girls can then swap with other troop girls to have a reminder of who they met.
Another troop had a table that showed some of the robots that were made for a contest they have that goes all the way up to nation wide competition. The girls build robots out of legos and get a trophy and scholarship for winning the competition (I think).
Of course the first picture ends up as the last... Kristy eating lunch. We stopped to get lunch and had a little fast food picnic before tackling the event.
It was a very long day we finally got home at about 6:45. The unexpected heat combined with all the walking and activities, not to mention having almost 30 of us trying to stay together.... its great to be home.
